Free Limited Edition Prints.

I'll be releasing the link to a new blog detailing the specifics of my offer soon.

There will also be a few pamphlets released with the same information. Close friends and the like will be recieving the booklets. The website will be a collection of "assignments" that one must complete to recieve a free print. Sadly the assignments for the first edition will all be Reno area based. So some of you will not be able to participate in the first edition. The second will be based around my hometown of Henderson Nv.

Stay tuned for updates.

Ah, doodle.

Here's a doodle I made during my Journalism class. Not what I had originally intended but neat nonetheless. I'll have some sort of update soon.

This week in Photos (Six Point Three)

Also during Thanksgiving break I went to the UNR VS. UNLV game. Long story short, we lost. It was a pretty good expirence. I like sporting events, each one is something i'll never forget. It's great to be a member of the press. Especially a photographer. You are right ith the action. Feet away at times, mere inches at others, and on rare occasions you're immersed in it as a player collides with you (limbs flailing about, those pictures never come out.)

For the words that tell this story their own way go to the Sagebrush story HERE.

Also a nice photo gallery exists on the Sagebrush website HERE.

Thanksgiving exploration.

This thanksgiving, I found myself exploring quite a bit. If you remember the Abandoned casino post from a while ago you might find these pictures interesting. I and a couple of friends went into The Alystra last night and I finally got some interior shots of the building. I wasn't happy with those at all so you won't see many. I went back this morning with another friend as the sun was coming up and came out with some beautiful if fuzzy pictures. I also explored some tunnels pretty recently.

MAKE SURE YOU CLICK ON THE PICTURES THEMSELVES. THE COLORS AREN'T GOOD IN THE THUMBNAILS

This week in Photos (SixPointTwo)

Ah, I am in Vegas now (Henderson for my fellow Southies). I have a small update to make about Sagebrush photos. Ron pauls was a pretty photogenic individual. Then I'll give you some pretty pictures of some graffiti near my house. Hmm.

A photo gallery of my Ron Paul photos mixed in with Feilding and Calverts exists HERE.
The story resides HERE.

What I haven't found.

I've found countless secrets of this University. I've discovered places where others have been, and I've blazed new trails. But I haven't found what I secretly want: clues about secret societies. I know there are at least two of them associated with this campus. But why haven't I discovered secret messages, symbols, meeting places, maps, anything that movies and fantasy has told me I will find. Yes, I know. Those are fiction, but I honestly expected to find them. I think to myself that if I had a secret society, I'd claim these secret spaces. Eh. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Or looking too hard. *shrugs*

This week in Photos (SixPointOne)

Colored paralellograms.

So as I was walking around tonight on another of my unorthodox tours of the UNR campus I stumbled upon the photo below. Where am I? I'm taking guesses.

In other news, my iPod makes life and exploration so much cooler. When you can play music to fit your circumstance, life seems much cooler. Also turning it off and simply existing without sound is fun too. But better to have the option and not use it than to not have it at all.

Oh, and my windows are fogging up all pretty-like.

Look at this. It's my newest obsession.

I've watched this a few times now.
Pay particular attention to about 1:15.
Planes flying in an out of airports have a strange allure.

This week in Photos (Five)

Here we are. The week is coming to a close. The next week in photos will probably be a bunch of artsy photos. The week after that will probably be as well. Anywho. Here is a bunch of neat stuff to look at. I took some photos of a really nice dancer girl. And I was an idiot and shot at the wrong iso by a long shot. Then you'll get a blast of some new union stuff. After that I'll inject you with some portrait. Then I'll give you some benefit pictures.

(I also realize that some of you might want to read the news stories attached to these photos, so I'll link those from now on)

Please insert usb cable into your wrists, here come the pretty rectangles.

New location.

There's a 30 foot drop inside that hole. If anyone has access to a long rope ladder I would be appreciate if I could borrow it.

I'm starting to think that there's more to this university than meets the eye. Secret tunnels, secret rooms, hidden floors. I get the feeling that there's still more to come.

Secret room, and updated photos.

I know this is a public blog. Therefore I will not be posting a photo of the entrance to the secret room I discovered. I'm sorry. My views may change in the future.

I will however post two versions of a photo that I would like feedback on. Please let me know which one you prefer.

Absolutely hilarious moment.

Critique Session.

The sagebrush has a critique session in an hour or so. I don't know what I'm expecting. The critique-ers will all probably be writers, which might not help me much. Meh. They'll also probably talk about the quality of the paper overall which is important. Mm.

Also, I'll be updating with new photos soon. Juliet helped me get the photos I really wanted.

Wednesday, November 7, 2007

Wow.

Do you have any idea how awesome it is to find a secret room? I do.

Enjoy this.

Here's a doodle I created while I wasn't paying much attention in art class.

This week in Photos (Four)

Alrighty. Brief update for the week. The old union has closed, and that's sad. Flipside hosted a Habitat for Humanity event. The new union opened(ish). there was a stress workshop. And the womens soccer team lost.

Well... neat.

Apparently people read my blog. News to me, neat and uplifting news. It does however make me afraid as to what I've accidentally let slip about my life. But seeing as this is a place that is meant to represent a real part of me and not some fabricated glossy cutout of me, i'm going to continue with the truth.

News updates on my life are as follows.
I feel like I'm growing in my photography. I could just be going crazy, but I think my photos have taken on a more meaningful substance. I used to see jopurnalistic photography and artistic photography as entirely seperate kinds of work. Little did I know, all photography is artistic. There just happens to be a sect that gets printed in newspapers. I know to most people that seems like a simple and obvious conclusion. But I'm odd and have only as of a few weeks ago come to this realization. I know. I'm dumb. Moving on.

I'm finally getting help from the counseling center on my uncanny ability to forget everything ever. It's not the regular kind of forgetting either. I don't know my multiplication tables. I can't remember a phone number rom the phone book to the phone, I have incredible difficulty keeping appointments straight. In fact I still have problems remembering what classes ihave on what days, and when all the meetings are for teh sagebrush. But pen and paper save me. The pen is my Jesus. Moving forward.

I absolutely need to buy a camera. It's official, I can't survive without a camera of profesional quality within arms reach at all times.

And last but not least, look forward to a week in photos today or tomorrow.

Just a random fact.

Across the Universe is one of the best movies I've ever seen, ever. It's right up there with American Beauty. For those of you that know me, that's a very high compliment for this movie.
