What I haven't found.

I've found countless secrets of this University. I've discovered places where others have been, and I've blazed new trails. But I haven't found what I secretly want: clues about secret societies. I know there are at least two of them associated with this campus. But why haven't I discovered secret messages, symbols, meeting places, maps, anything that movies and fantasy has told me I will find. Yes, I know. Those are fiction, but I honestly expected to find them. I think to myself that if I had a secret society, I'd claim these secret spaces. Eh. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Or looking too hard. *shrugs*

Have you heard of the Order of the Scepter? It's the youngest (as far as I know) secret society on our campus, it was founded in June 2005. They tried to recruit me last spring, but for some reason they changed their mind at the very last moment. I still have all their letters and even a picture of the founding members, some of whom I've managed to recognize. ;) I think I posted a note about it on my facebook - contact me if you want more info.

As for the Coffin&Keys, they're really sloppy. I saw them in action at least once, and if you plan carefully, you just might be able to ambush them lol. All of their members are from fraternities, so I'm sure if you ask around (or look at the pictures on their myspace), you'll figure out who they are...

I'm not so much interested in who the people involved are as I am in what they are and how they operate.

You haven't found the secret messages, etc., because it seems that your secret societies aren't all that motivated to do things to make life interesting.

Look in the archives located in the library. Look at the old school year books, as there are tons of pictures about them. find out who the fraternity presidents are, especially the big ones. you can deduce who is in and was in by that. look at asun senators, executives and justices...they are usually in. but in the end you will only find dissapointment because they have simply become a private club that does nothing but drink together never actively "bettering" the university as they claim.

It saddens me to know you all think so lowly of Coffin & Keys. The members of Coffin & Keys do more for this university than you realize. Yes, all they (we) do when they come together is socialize, but you must look at what they do outside of the organization. All great change that happens on campus spurs mainly from the catalyst of XK [which is just the Greek representation (Chi Kappa) of C&K, don't blatantly assume 10 dues at Nevada are the last dying arm of the KKK idiot]. Their members influence many aspects of life at Nevada. Since you want to know so much about them maybe you should just talk to them. Their email is paulquinlan@coffinandkeys.com, I'm sure they'd love to talk to you.

Grigory probably shouldn't email them though, they think he is a tool.

Have a good one.
