Take a look around my site. there are (or were) three slideshow applications in various places. One is a simple slideshow to the right. The other is a flash badge of a bunch of itty bitty squares. The last is the obnoxious bar beneath my main title bar. Which one should I keep?

Slideshow on right. The slider is exacly what you said...obnoxious. It bothers me.
